Malaysia LHDN Tax Relief updates for Year Assessment 2022
> Updated Malaysia tax relieves for YA2022.
i. New Tax relief limit RM2,500 for the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Facility Payment Expenses
ii. New tax relief (extra) for Lifestyle - Computer/smartphone/tablet
iii. Deactivate Medical Expenses for Father/Mother Certified by Medical Practitioner
iv. Increase tax relief for expenses in attending reskilling and upskilling courses to RM2,000
v. New tax relief code to break down education fees for master’s/doctorate degree of any field
vi. Break down main Lifestyle relief to 4 sub-relieves
vii. Increase the SOCSO tax relief limit to RM350 and expand the scope of relief to cover EIS
viii. Change description of Domestic Tourism Expenditure relief

Tax update on Iskandar Malaysia Region Worker
> Updated Monthly Tax Deduction calculation of qualified knowledge worker in Iskandar Malaysia region.
Updated Monthly Tax Deduction calculation of qualified knowledge worker in Iskandar Malaysia region, to incorporate individual and spouse rebate as below:
For chargeable income below or equal to RM35,000,
• If Marital Status is Single, Married and husband or wife is working, divorced, or widowed, or single with adopted child, rebate is RM400.
• If Marital Status is Married and husband or wife is not working, rebate is RM800.
For chargeable income above RM35,000, rebate is RM0 (no rebate)
