Malaysia Statutory Update
Update on Amendments to the Employment Act 1955 & 1st Schedule.
Updated default maximum pay allowed to calculate overtime hourly rate pay, working hours and leaves as per amendment on Employment Act Malaysia gazette on 15 Aug 2022.
Maximum pay allowed to calculate HRP (1) has been updated from 2000 to 4000.
Update on Minimum Wage Order 2022 Effective Date
Employers who have fewer than five employees will only have to start paying a higher minimum wage of RM1,500 from July 2023, instead of the earlier scheduled start date of January 1, 2023, Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar said on 27 December 2022. Updated the effective dates of minimum wages implementation for Employers who have fewer than five employees in UBS Payroll Minimum Wages Law screens:
New fields on CP8D e-Filing Text File Format
Added 2 new fields in CP8D e-Filing text file Format.
Added field 19 Medical Insurance and field 20 SOCSO Contribution (Caruman Perkeso) to the income tax CP8D e-Filing Employee’s. Particular text file with compliance to the latest file format.
Include EIS Amount in CP8D Text File Formats from YA2022 and Onwards
The SOCSO Contribution (Caruman Perkeso) fields in the income tax CP8D e-Filing and e-Data Praisi Employee’s Particular text file have been updated to include EIS employee contribution amount as well with compliance to the government’s policy for YA2022 and onwards.
Include EIS Amount in EA / EC Form Perkeso Amount from YA2022 and Onwards
The Perkeso Amount fields in income tax EA Form and EC Form have been updated to include EIS employee contribution amount as well with compliance to government’s policy for YA2022 and onwards.
Increase Field length of Pencen field in EA Form
Increase the length of EA Form ‘Pencen’ (pension) field from 6 digits and 2 decimal places to 7 digits and 2 decimal places in Modern View.
