Malaysia Statutory Update

Update on CP8 Form

Updated CP8 Form (E-Form & CP8D) as per the latest template from LHDN at Reports > Statutory Reports > Income Tax > CP8 at Format 2023:

System Interface Modernisation (for Malaysia License)

Previous Month Payroll
Added new feature, a Payroll Month drop down list in the Modern View Payroll main screen to allow user to read-only the payroll figures of previous month(s) (if available).

By clicking on the Payroll Month drop down list, user could select any available month to view the month’s payroll data. The Payroll Month drop down list is defaulted to show Current Month payroll where user could proceed to update and process pay for the month as usual. 

For previous month payroll, the figures are read-only since the payroll has been closed. Also, user could view the Past Months Pay Transaction report by clicking on the top right Reports drop down list.

Malaysia Statutory Update 

Remove Expired Tax Relieves

Removed 3 tax relieves that expire in 2022 from the payroll as per LHDN’s initial amendment to the specification for Monthly Tax Deduction (MTD) calculations using computerised calculation for 2023.
Three tax relieves below that expire in 2022 have been deactivated:
• TR0009 - Net Deposit in Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional, capping amount RM8000.
• TR0046 - Lifestyle - Computer/smartphone/tablet (Extra relief on purchase of personal computer, smartphone and tablet from 1/1/2021 to 31/12/2022), capping amount RM2500.
• TR0037 - Domestic tourism expenditure, capping amount RM1000.

Update on EA Form 

Updated EA Form as per the latest template from LHDN.

Update on EC Form

Updated EC Form as per the latest template from LHDN.

Update on CP8D File Format Options

Consolidated the CP8D e-Filing and e-data Praisi file format options into 1 as per LHDN latest policy.
As LHDN has standardised the C.P.8D information layout of e-Data Praisi/e-CP8D and e-Filing of Form E (e-E) into one for Pin.
2022, the CP8D File Format options in Reports > Statutory Reports > Income Tax > CP8 have been updated to guide user downloading the same latest file format for both e-Data Praisi and e-Filing, but meanwhile leave the old file format of e-Data Praisi for customer’s reference.

System Interface Modernisation

New Payroll Tab Listing - MTD Total
Added (Month to Date) MTD Total tab listing in Modern View Payroll side menu to allow user to view the listing of full month total and to view Month To Date Pay Reports. (Note: Payslip and Bank Files are not applicable for MTD Total).

Add Extra Payment Reports to Report Main Screen.

Journal Voucher

New option " Print Journal Voucher" is added to address users. need to print a physical copy of the journal voucher as supporting document for verification, authorizing signature and filling to provide accountability into accounting system.        

The new print Journal Voucher option can be accessed at 3 different locations as list below.  

1. Main Reports menu list

2. Report Centre

3. Transaction File Maintenance
- To print Journal Voucher from Transaction File Maintenance, please ensure you are selecting the GL Account line where the bill type is not equal to "P". Else, you will either print a Payment or Receipt voucher.

Payment and Receipt Voucher 

Payment and Receipt Voucher is now enhanced to include journal entries. to provide ease of checking and reduce users.

New checkbox, "With Journal Entries" is added in existing Print Payment Voucher or Receipt screen. Just tick on the checkbox to print Payment or Receipt voucher with journal entries included.

Upgrade Reminder

Out-of Support Windows Message

From this update onwards, if you are using Microsoft Windows version lower than 10 or Windows Server 2016, an Out-of-Support Windows reminder message will be prompted when UBS is launched. This notification serves as a gentle reminder to upgrade to the latest Windows to be protected with latest Windows to be protected with latest security measure.
