UBS had just release new version and known as ultimate version. The Ultimate version has the latest license service that provides new facilities to improve customer experience. The Online Update facility allows software licenses with active Sage Cover to detect, download and upgrade the latest version of the software license automatically.

- It supports mobile license.
- It supports customer self-service facility to de-activate and re-activate your license. Other benefits will be announced when they become available to customers.

Why exchange your dongle with Ultimate Version v9.4?

- All dongles are for versions before v9.3. You can continue to work with a dongle version. If and when it breaks down, you will need to upgrade to the latest version at the current version upgrade charge, provided you have proof of purchase for your dongle license.
With the release of Ultimate Version v9.4, you can exchange your dongle for a 9.4 license. The benefits of Ultimate Version v9.4 are as follows:

- There is no need to migrate your data, all you need to do is back up your dongle version and restore into Ultimate Version v9.4
- All your custom reports should continue to work without need for changes or charges.
- Supports Windows 7 and 64 bit operating systems.

UBS Update: Discontinue SMS registration

Effective 9 January 2012, license activation via SMS will no longer be available.

Currently only online registration available. The user need to have internet access to activate the license for the first time. After license activated, user can continue use the system as normally.

UBS Update: UBS Payroll 2012

It is announce on 2012 Budget which higher employer's EPF contribution rate for employee earning up To RM5K effective January 2012 wage.

As such, according to EPF Third Schedule - The employer’s share contribution for employees who receive monthly wage/salary of RM5, 000 and below will be increased by 1 percent from 12 percent to 13 percent. The employee’s share contribution rate remains at 11 percent.

The increase in the employer’s share contribution rate is effective beginning employee’s January 2012 wage/salary for February 2012 contribution.

Sage UBS Payroll Start and Sage UBS Payroll 2012 were now action on updating the EPF Policy to meet the new changes stated on the Third Schedule, EPF Act 1991.

The campaign has 2 clear objectives for UBS users.

1. To protect users from illegal copies of UBS product, UBS are launching a registration campaign to make sure the consumers are adequately protected.

2. To protect the right of users to be able to upgrade their products in the future based on a registered, legal copy of our products.

This registration process ends in 31 January 2012. Please make sure you beat the deadline.

It is very important to note that after 31 January 2012, only customers with registered licenses or have proof of purchase will be eligible to upgrade their existing license to the latest version. This means that from 1 February 2012, we will only be able to offer a Version Upgrade to customers with registered licenses, and to those who can provide proof of purchase.

UBS Update: UBS 9.6 release

Sage UBS had come out new method of licensing. This Mobile License provides convenience for user to continue working with the system anywhere, anytime, when he/she is out of the office.

Sage UBS Mobile license allows you to take your license with you and work remotely on any workstation outside the office. With a ‘virtual’ dongle, you can tap all the benefits of being mobile and avoid the potential replacement cost

In a multi-user environment, other users can still continue to work on the system in the office as their licenses will not be affected at all.

Sage UBS mobile license come with the following benefits and flexibility:

1. User can check out 1 user license from the host PC each time – this will allow other users to continue working on the system with the remaining user license.

2. User can check out multiple company database from the host PC each time; for editing (updating data) or viewing – all at your sole discretion on the check-out usage.

3. Save the mobile license file in any storage device – thumb drive, external hard disk or memory card.

4. Install the mobile license at any client PC that is preinstalled with Sage UBS system.

Note: The mobile license is valid for a maximum of 14 days.

Updates on UBS Payroll

- In compliance to the enhancement in taxation formula, user will no longer be allowed to change the payroll year at parameter setup once the payroll has been processed in the system.

- User must perform month & year end to ensure the record is being updated accordingly for future use and reference.

Updates on Personal Relief 2010

Government had make changes on the personal relief on taxation 2010. This include additional and increment in personal relief item as listed below.

i) Broadband subscription fees up to RM 500 per year.
ii) Annuity scheme premium from insurance companies commencing payment for 1st January 2010 up to RM 1,000 per year. 
- Annuity premium is categorized as optional deduction and claims through TP1 form. For the purpose of calculation, the capping amount is RM1000 in TP1 form and any exceeding amount have to include on contribution to Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and life insurance premium as K1.

iii) Personal relief increase from 8,000 to 9,000 per year
